About Island Hospital
Recognized as one of the most innovative small hospitals in the U.S., ranked as a 4-Star hospital by Medicare (one of only 10 in the state) and recognized for the lowest readmission rates in the state of Washington in 2015, Island Hospital is an integral part of the great quality of life on Fidalgo Island. We have been trusted to provide care to our community since 1962 and are honored to be their provider of choice. Island Hospital provides an innovative and growing environment for our employees to further their careers, and as a 43-bed hospital we provide a range of services and exceptional quality care typically found in a larger facility including cancer care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, wound care, sleep wellness, family practice and specialty clinics, and much more.
Fidalgo Island
Located in Anacortes, WA, Island Hospital is the center for health and wellness in west Skagit County, also serving north Whidbey Island and the San Juan Islands. Island Hospital is accessible by car over the Twin Bridges, and is conveniently situated halfway between Seattle and Vancouver BC. It is the destination point for the San Juan Islands and International ferry runs for Washington State. With a temperate climate year round and being surrounded by oceanic straits, emerald forests and abundant wetlands, it’s a perfect setting to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities year round.
